El Municipio de Lincoln votó 7-0 a favor de aprobar una resolución que se opone a cualquier centro de detención del Servicio de Inmigración en el Condado de Lincoln. Aunque la resolución no cambia las leyes locales, afirma la posición de la ciudad acerca de proteger el debido proceso y que los residentes no deberían vivir en temor de detenciones ilegales.

8/25/2026: Legal Updates
Trends on arrests - steady and constant…
Steady increase and mostly traffic stops - ICE is running plates and asking for the owners of the vehicles. Not consistent on who they arrest and who they let go.
Mostly they have sought people with prior removal orders (no matter if deported many years ago) or other alleged immigration violations.
Airport detentions
The risk of being detained during travel has increased- TSA has been sharing travelers’ information with ICE.
Having a pending asylum application, work permit, or other pending immigration applications may not be enough to make travel by plane safe - especially if you have prior immigration history.
Before travelling speak to an attorney and make a plan.
8/6/2026: Legal updates:
TPS ( Temprary Protected Status) is being taken away from Sirian and Haitian community members. OFA advices that if we know any community members who might be affected, we connect them to an attorney who can help to manage their case.
ICE is currently running license plates and targeting people by their name. Before they were targeting people based on past history/tickets, but have now moved to this new tactic.
If you have a youth or minor who entered the country unaccompanied and is now being called to ICE check-ins where they will be collecting demographic information. It is adviced that parents or guardians who are not legal citizens do not accompany the minors to their check-ins. Minors should be accompanied by an attorney.
7/24/2026: ICE presence in Lincoln CIty continues to be a rumor. If you see any activity please call PIRC at 1-888-622-1510. Remember to use C.L.E.A.R., count how many people or cars, location, equipment, activity, and report the time.
7/24/2026: Yesterday we had reports that ICE was in the city of Lincoln City. The Rapid Response team confirmed with the hotel that THERE IS NO ICE in the city. Please stay calm, in case of ICE activity call PIRC at 1-888-622-1510, then our Rapid Response team will be activated to verify the report.
7/23/2026: Unaccompanied minors required to report demographic information to DHS. If your children are called to give information, it is recommended that they go accompanied with a lawyer and not the parents if the parents are also undocumented.
Decision from D.C. Circuit Court allowing DHS’s January 2025 policy expanding expedited removal nationally to go into effect.
It means DHS can arrest people and deport them without seeing an immigration judge anywhere in the country if they can’t prove they’ve been in the U.S. for more than 2 years.
It is now more urgent than ever that people without permanent status in the U.S. carry proof of 2+ years residence with them.

Se observa un aumento sostenido, principalmente derivado de paradas de tráfico: el ICE verifica las matrículas y pregunta por los propietarios de los vehículos. No existe un criterio uniforme sobre a quién detienen y a quién dejan libre.
Por lo general, han buscado a personas con órdenes de expulsión previas (independientemente de si fueron deportadas hace muchos años) o con otras presuntas infracciones migratorias.
Detenciones en aeropuertos
El riesgo de ser detenido durante un viaje ha aumentado, ya que la TSA ha estado compartiendo información de los viajeros con el ICE.
Tener una solicitud de asilo, un permiso de trabajo u otras solicitudes de inmigración pendientes puede no ser suficiente para garantizar la seguridad al viajar en avión, especialmente si se cuenta con antecedentes migratorios previos.
Antes de viajar, consulte a un abogado y elabore un plan.
6 de agosto de 2026: Actualizaciones legales:
Se ha retirando el TPS (Estatus de Protección Temporal) a los miembros de las comunidades siria y haitiana. Se recomienda que, si conocemos a miembros de la comunidad que pudieran verse afectados, los pongamos en contacto con un abogado que pueda ayudar a gestionar su caso.
Si usted tiene un joven o menor que ingresó al país sin compañía y ahora ha sido citado a citas de control con ICE —donde se recopilará información demográfica—, se recomienda que los padres o tutores que no sean ciudadanos legales no acompañen a los menores a dichas citas. Los menores deben ir acompañados por un abogado.
Actualmente, el ICE está verificando matrículas y deteniendo a personas por su nombre. Anteriormente, se centraban en personas basándose en antecedentes o multas previas, pero ahora han adoptado esta nueva táctica.
7/24/2026: La presencia de ICE en Lincoln City continua siendo un rumor. Por favor mantengan la calma. Si ven actividad por favor llamen a PIRC al 1-888-622-1510. Recuerden usar las siglas C.L.E.A.R: cuantas personas o carros ven, el local en donde ven la actividad, que equipo estan usando, actividad, y reportar el tiempo.
7/24/2026: Ayer hubo reportes de ICE en la ciudad de Lincoln City. Nuestro equipo de respuesta rapida confirmo con el hotel que NO HAY ICE hospedandose alli. Por favor mantenganse calmado, en caso de actividad llame a PIRC 1-888-622-1510. Al recibir ellos informacion nuestro equipo de respuesta rapida se activa para verificar los reportes.
7/23/2026: Menores de edad que entraron al pais sin acompañamiento, son requeridos dar su información demografica a DHS. Si sus hijos necesitan ir a dar su información con ICE, se aconseja que los menores vayan acompañados de un abogado de inmigración.
Decision de Washington D.C. permite que la poliza de deportacion de Enero 2025 de DHS se expanda y se acelere y tome efecto nacionalmente.
Esto quiere decir que DHS puede arrestar a personas y deportarlas sin tener que ver a un juez de inmigracion en cualquier parte del pais si las personas no pueden mostrar que han tenido residencia dentro de los Estados Unidos por mas de 2 años.
Es mas urgente que nunca que las personas que no tienen estatus pemanente lleven con ellos evidencia de residencia de 2 años o mas.
The Lincoln City Council voted 7–0 to approve a resolution opposing any Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility in Lincoln County. While the resolution does not change local law, it affirms the city’s stance that due process should be protected and residents should not live in fear of unlawful detention.
